Green Leaf Innovations, Inc. (GRLF) is a Florida-based emerging growth company focused on the marketing, private-label manufacturing, and wholesale distribution of handmade premium cigars. Through our wholly-owned subsidiary SOFLO Wholesaler Group, Inc., we distribute to over 400 retail locations across cigar lounges, smoke shops, convenience stores, vape shops, and duty-free outlets throughout the United States.
Our cigars are handmade at our manufacturing facilities in Estelí, Nicaragua — a region renowned for its volcanic soil and centuries-old tobacco tradition.
Our premium cigar portfolio is built around the legacy of the Mederos family — a third-generation cigar-making family whose craft traces back to 19th-century Cuba. Roberto Mederos, Chairman and CEO, has owned and operated handmade cigar operations in Nicaragua and the United States for over 20 years.
Through exclusive import arrangements, strategic acquisitions, and a disciplined approach to brand development, Green Leaf Innovations has grown from a boutique importer into a multi-brand wholesale platform with domestic and international reach.
A premium handmade cigar typically takes 2–5 years to reach your humidor — from a microscopic seed to a finished smoke, passing through meticulous stages of farming, curing, fermentation, blending, rolling, and aging.
Tobacco begins as microscopic seeds sown in protected seedbeds, nurtured into 1–2 inch seedlings over roughly 45–60 days before the strongest are transplanted to the fields.
Mature plants develop over 2–4 months. Farmers top plants and remove suckers to concentrate energy into the leaves, cultivating soil to strengthen roots and structure.
Leaves are harvested in stages — priming from the bottom up — so each leaf position (volado, seco, ligero) can develop its own distinct strength and flavor profile.
Fresh green leaves are hung in curing barns where warm air slowly drives out moisture over 4–8 weeks, transforming green chlorophyll into rich brown carotenoids.
Cured leaves are moistened, tied into hands, and stacked into large pilones where natural fermentation begins. Internal heat rises to 90–100°F, and workers periodically turn the stacks to control temperature while driving out ammonia and harsh compounds.
Once fermentation is complete, tobacco is stored and aged — often for many months or several years — to mellow and refine flavors before rolling begins.
Conditioned leaves are deveined and sorted by size, texture, color, and strength. Master blenders then select specific filler, binder, and wrapper tobaccos to achieve the target flavor, strength, and burn characteristics — much like composing a recipe.
A buncher forms the core by arranging filler leaves for airflow, wrapping them in a binder leaf, and pressing the bunch in a wooden mold to define the cigar's shape.
The bunch goes to a skilled torcedor (roller), who applies a flawless wrapper leaf in a tight spiral, finishes the head with a cap, and completes the cigar — often in under a minute at the highest skill levels.
Freshly rolled cigars are rested or box-aged for months (sometimes years) so moisture equalizes and the blend "marries," smoothing the overall profile. From planting the seed to lighting the finished cigar, the journey commonly spans 2–5 years.
